The pomegranate tree flourishes inland in dry, rocky soil but also grows in a variety of climates. It is capable of adopting to the worst cultivation conditions alongside fig, prickly pear and date palm. The beautiful pear-shaped orange blossoms and red fruit are more prolific and give a higher yield in subtropical areas.
